MedGuard Health Services is a company that was created to provide outsourced correctional health care to small- and medium-sized county jails throughout the United States.

Challenge

Unlike other options for outsourced inmate health care, MedGuard was first to market this new concept built on franchise operations. Walker PR needed to communicate the new franchise opportunity to nurses throughout the country and needed a forum to answer questions, explain the business model and address concerns about taking on such an endeavor.

Solution

Walker PR suggested an Internet-based presentation which would effectively “tell the story” of MedGuard and serve as a platform for introducing the business. Walker coordinated with MedGuard to help identify topics and a “guest speaker,” refine questions and talking points and facilitate a rehearsal prior to each taping. Walker would then work with the recording studio to edit each podcast to run approximately 30-40 minutes.

Walker developed content and produced monthly podcasts in order to keep MedGuard top-of-mind while ensuring fresh, informative sessions. Podcasts were promoted via e-mail blasts to increase reach and drive visitors to the site.

Results

The podcasts were well received by nurses and served as a highly effective and cost efficient means of communicating valuable information to a broad audience. Visits to MedGuard’s site increased after each podcast posting. In addition, the podcast streamlined the sales process by reducing MedGuard’s staff travel time and the overall budget.
